Why did you start yoga?

I started yoga ten years ago when I lived in a suburb of Milwaukee. I felt going to the local fitness center was getting redundant and I needed something else physical. One of my friends thought we should try HOT yoga and well, I say I will try anything once! That was the start of my yoga journey.

Why did you sign up for yoga teacher training at Muddy Waters?

After practicing different types of yoga and attending many classes, I felt I was pretty accomplished in what I wanted out of yoga. I thought of it as just a work out and a powerful one at that!

Then adulting happened.

The carrying the world for everyone else on your shoulders and not being true to myself started to happen over a course of a few years.

I often questioned, is this the best my life will be?

Then, I had the opportunity to take a few yoga retreats through Muddy Waters and after each of them, I felt myself slowly returning to a better version:

The version that said I am worth it.

I can make decisions and I will live the best life possible.

I have had a number of friends that have gone through yoga teacher training and never considered it for myself. But, I felt like if the life I was living was going to change, it needed to change with me first.

How it has changed your life?

Life is not all unicorns and rainbows, we all know that. But if you can learn how to look at the cards dealt in a more positive way, your entire world becomes more positive.

The things that once bothered me or annoyed me, well, they don't (as much) and it's a powerful feeling.

You come into training as a person not knowing what will change, but on this journey, I promise, changes do take place.
