We offer a wide variety of classes to support practitioners at all experience levels and to provide classes that fit your body’s unique and ever-changing needs. Whether you are looking for relaxation after a stressful day or a strengthening, vigorous workout, Muddy Waters Yoga Studio has a class to support your needs.

heated classes:

Slow Flow: An all levels class that approaches the practice of yoga in a softer and more gentler way. Ideal for those that are new to yoga, students seeking a more accessible practice, and regular yoga practitioners that just want to slow it down. This class is warmed to 70-75 degrees.

Flow: In this Vinyasa class, we focus on linking breath with movement.  The teacher will provide demonstration and verbal cues to help you connect with your own inner strength and develop your practice. Mind-body connection and physical growth are both fostered in this class.  This class is best for practitioners with basic yoga knowledge. The room will be heated to 75-80 degrees.

Power Flow: Recommended for intermediate practitioners. Power Flow provides an added challenge to your practice by introducing more challenging (optional) postures. We will work to link breath and movement as you cultivate strength from the inside out. Modifications are offered so you can make it your own practice at your own level. The room will be heated to 85-90 degrees. Be ready to sweat!

Barre: Barre combines the best of yoga and Pilates using the barre for balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements to create long, lean, sculpted muscles. This class is heated to 75-80 degrees. Pulse Express is 45 minutes.

Iron Sculpt: Iron sculpt incorporates hand weights and high-intensity cardio bursts for a maximum calorie burning effect while remaining true to the foundation of yoga and the vinyasa flow sequence. Part of the workshop will help participants understand safe movement and joint alignment within yoga poses, how to target major muscle groups that will help advance one's practice, and why strength training exercise is beneficial to health and aging. The class is heated between 75-80 degrees.

non-heated classes:

Beginning Flow: This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of  yoga. This class focuses on developing clear and safe alignment in foundation poses. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes; you just have to be willing to try.

Restorative: Calm the mind and body with this soothing Restorative Yoga class.  Restorative yoga poses require no muscular exertion; each pose is held for several minutes and deeply supported by props – blankets, bolsters, and blocks.  During the class, you will be guided to mindfully and consciously notice thoughts and sensations in your body.  Students leave feeling nourished, well rested and refreshed; with a new cultivated awareness and clarity.  Guided Meditation is also incorporated throughout the class. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome.

Yin: Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. This class will have you on the floor most of the time, using as many props needed to create as little effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa practice and will open and release areas in need of more. Class will end with a brief meditation.

Chair Sculpt – A little twist on chair yoga. This class is for everyone, at every skill level. Come experience this class where we incorporate props and learn how to move our bodies while sitting in a chair or using the chair as a prop. Incorporating movements you can utilize in your daily life, whether you have a desk job, travel or are just starting to move your body. Safely protecting joints and targeting muscle groups is part of the focus of this class. We know you will leave each class feeling refreshed and empowered!

Prenatal yoga:  Prenatal Yoga is designed to strengthen and support your changing body throughout your pregnancy as well as prepare the mind for the process ahead. Meditation, breath, and movement are utilized to foster the mind-body connection.
